Learn how FortiClient Standalone provides secure VPN access without requiring FortiClient EMS.
In this demo, we show how FortiClient Standalone works with FortiIdentity Cloud and FortiGate to deliver a streamlined remote access experience. FortiIdentity Cloud handles user onboarding, authentication, MFA, and basic endpoint visibility, while FortiGate provides the secure IPsec VPN connection.
This video walks through the full workflow, including creating a realm in FortiIdentity Cloud, assigning the FortiClient VPN/EPP service to a user, configuring an IPsec VPN tunnel on FortiGate, enabling SAML single sign-on, onboarding the user with an invitation code, and establishing a secure VPN connection from FortiClient Standalone.
FortiClient Standalone is a practical option for organizations using Free FortiClient or open-source IPsec agents with FortiGate who want a more integrated Fortinet remote access solution without moving to EMS.
